THE BILAN COLLECTION

about.
Bilan Ariel Stribling is an African American painter, designer, and curator, noted for her work in the areas of minimalism and abstract expressionism. Stribling began her academic and professional career in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She now lives and works in New York City as an arbitrator and financial services professional. The loss of her Mother and Grandmother in 2016 inspired her to create The Bilan Collection. In her early paintings, she used dynamic and strongly textured brushwork. Then her style matriculated to a spontaneous improvisatory manner often using large brushes to make sweeping gestural marks with vibrant colors, intended to elicit an emotional response from viewers. In essence, The Bilan Collection captivates the audience as interpreter of life's form and purpose.
